C. Douglass Thomas
Mr. Thomas has a broad range of experience in domestic and international IP matters, and has assisted many individuals, emerging companies, and Fortune 500 companies in developing and protecting their IP assets. His practice focuses on procuring patents and trademarks, reexaminations, reissues, Inter Partes Reviews (IPRs), strategic IP counseling, expert opinions, product clearance studies, technology-related licensing, and litigation. Mr. Thomas has extensive experience in a broad range of technologies including: computer software, Internet technologies, networks, integrated circuit designs, signal processing systems, and computer architectures. In addition to having published various articles, Mr. Thomas has served as an adjunct professor with the University of Santa Clara School of Law, where he contributed to educating others in the IP field. Mr. Thomas has previously practiced as a patent attorney in Washington, D.C. as well as locally with the Hewlett-Packard Company. Prior to the practice of law, he acquired practical experience in the areas of microprocessor programming and IC simulation. Mr. Thomas is a member of the U.S. Patent Bar, and is a member of the California, District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey state bars.
